Ambulatory phlebectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove varicose veins.The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.


INDICATIONS FOR AMBULATORY PHLEBECTOMY

  • Asymptomatic varicose and reticular veins
  • Symptomatic varicose and reticular veins.
  • Complications of varicose veins


CONTRADICTIONS

  • Infectious dermatitis, cellulitis in surrounding areas
  • Severe peripheral edema.
  • Seriously ill patients.
  • Anticoagulated patients—warfarin (Coumadin), etc.
  • Hypercoagulable states
