Hair Transplant – FUE

FUE Hair Transplantation is a surgical treatment that is used as a solution to hair loss. The treatment involves transplanting individual hair follicles from a part of the body known as the ‘donor site’ into the bald part of the head called the ‘recipient site’.

DESCRIPTION AND SYMPTOMS

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is a newer type of hair transplant wherein individual hair follicles are taken out of the skin and implanted at the requisite body part. This would make the treated area look denser with hair without leaving any scars. Only a few tiny dots would be visible that would gradually fade.

There are a few things that need to be done like no haircut, smoking, drinking, blood thinners, supplements, and antidepressants for a few days before the treatment. Doing a scalp massage for 10-20 minutes daily for a few weeks would help avoid getting hair cut before the surgery.

METHODS/SOLUTIONS

If a person has thinning hair but still has enough hair to be used for the procedure, that is the time when it calls for an FUE transplant.

Methods/Solutions

FUE is a simple method of hair transplant that is done in simple steps-

  • The area from where the follicles will be removed and transplanted will be shaved by the surgeon.
  • Then, the follicles will be removed using a micro punch tool.
  • Numerous minute incisions will be made at the place where the follicles are to be inserted using a sharp tool.
  • The follicles will then be inserted into those incisions.
